Tarakihi/Snapper: 7:30am-3:30pm (Tide
Depart the Kaituna cut at 7:30am estimated time of arrival at the fishing
grounds 45min. Tarakihi fish with Ledger rigs till a good feed is caught,
generally till lunch time.
Then head towards Plate Island for Snapper stray lining or shallower reefs
towards Pukehina or Town Point. Anglers provide all their own tackle and bait
etc. Although we do hire
rods/tackle for $15 Returning to the Kaituna
cut at aprox 3:30pm
Cost:$1000 10 people max If unable
to find enough anglers make contact with us, we often know of anglers wanting
to make up numbers.
Schooner/Plate Depart Kaituna cut at
7:30am try for live bait just over the entrance. Proceed to head out to
Schooner/Plate 30-45min steam.
Fish for Kingies by live baits that we caught in morning or mainly by jigging.
We have 2 sets of jigging gear available and live bait gear.

Try for live bait Jack Mackeral and Small Kahawai for aprox 30 minutes. Steam to the grounds
aprox 1hour 30minutes arriving approximately 7:30-8:00am. Fish for Kingies,
Hapuku, and Blue nose. by jigging and or bottom gear. 7-8 Hours fishing the
Rangitera's. Depart Rangitera's 4:00pm
returning to the Kaituna river 5:30-6pm Deep-water rods provided
at no extra cost. B.Y.O jigging rods we only have 2 sets. Cost:$2100 $350p/p maximum 6 people
White Island White Island is New
Zealand most active volcano, which is constantly erupting, producing steam from
its crater. Located 35 nautical miles from Kaituna River. The neighbouring
Volknar Rocks is now a marine reserve with a section that can be fished. This
Marine reserve is an awesome scenic dive. White Island use to be mined for
sulphur but was stopped in 1914 after an eruption killed 10 workers. White Island is now home
to an abundance of Yellow Tail Kingfish also various other species. Yellow Tail
Kingfish dominate these waters during the spring and summer months providing
excellent fishing, as catch and release is promoted largely here from most

II Depart Kaituna River
5:00-5:30am (weather/bar conditions dependent). Try for live bait Jack Mackeral and
small Kahawai once across bar . Steam to White Island 1hr
45min approximately arriving White Island 8:00- 8:30am. Fish for kingies by
jigging and or live baiting.Fish for Bluenose/Hapuka
by jigging or bottom gear. 7 hours fishing at and
around White Island. Depart White Island 3.30p-4:00pm approximately returning to Kaituna River5.30-6.00pm BYO jigging rods, lunch (Okura II does have a BBQ). Live bait and Bottom fishing gear supplied.Ideal Jigging trip. Cost $2196 $366 p/pMax 6 people
