YOU'RE IN VERY

CAPABLE HANDS...

Brett Waterhouse

SKIPPER: Brett Waterhouse

I hold an Offshore Masters Skippers ticket and have a vast amount of knowledge about Tangaroa. Salt runs in my veins thanks to my Dad.

I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to dominate the monster fish in the Bay of Plenty. Having started my Charter fishing career on-board Tracker II with Skipper Paul Kingi, then moving onto Oracle, skippered by the well known Mike Boswell for a season of Ranfurly Banks, White Island, Three Kings Island and the West Coast Bluefin Tuna, all based out of Whakatane.

I then jumped into the Skippering role on board Cascade at 22 years of age, for a season of fishing the Ranfurly Banks, White Island, Three Kings and the West Coast Bluefin Tuna, based out of Whakatane. I skippered Cova Rose for four years, fishing Three Kings, West Coast Bluefin and a bit of commercial Albacore fishing, based in Nelson.

Now I'm back in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, skippering the family Cray fishing boat Okura II based in Maketu Kaituna River. This is home. Being based in the Kaituna River means you can really fish the Bay Of Plenty, whether its targeting a Sword fish for the day or filling the chilly bin with tasty Bluenose or Tarakihi it is all possible, with all the knowledge and experiance I have gained from my time on Tangaroa with differnt Skippers and Skippering a mix of vessels.

Get out of your inshore fishing (comfort zone) and explore the deep sea. You never know what is willing to bite your hook!!

My buzz from charter fishing is seeing the big smiles from clients with heavily bent rods and their meritorious catch in their arms.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Big or small I can target them all!
